The race

The South African Safari Rally is a new cross-country rally-raid event held in the North West and Limpopo provinces, with headquarters near Sun City.
It debuted on the global stage in 2025 as the third round of the FIA FIM World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), replacing the former Desafío Ruta 40 round.
The rally features a prologue plus five competitive stages covering a total of about 2,647 km (1,218 km raced), with terrain ranging from dusty savannas to mountainous regions.
